More monsters?! Beastly new Internet tabloid coming our way
If you haven’t had enough of monsters, maybe you will look forward to a new Internet tabloid which could eat up everything in its path. The Daily Beast, a reference to the grotesque scandal sheet in Evelyn Waugh‘s classic novel Scoop, is set to open for business at the end of this year.
Behind the project is British news queen Tina Brown, who soared to great heights with Vanity Fair, before ending up face down in a pile of beast-ly do-do with the ill-conceived Talk magazine. Gawker points out the sweet irony that the woman who outed Tina’s little plan is none other than aging gossip column writer Liz Smith, who is possibly still smarting about being outed as a lesbian by Brown in Talk.
